Steps to Starting a
Business in Glendale
Start with creating a business plan. Information on how to create a

A fictitious business name in needed. The
Glendale News-Press has applications available for a small fee. The
Glendale News-Press is located at 111 W. Wilson, 2nd floor, Glendale.

extension 208. The official filing is initiated at the Los Angles Country
Recorder's Office located in Norwalk (565) 462-2177.
Select a site. Determine zoning
requirements and secure any special zoning. Contact the City
of Glendale Planning Department at (818) 548-2140 for those
requirements.
Obtain a business permit: A business permit
"Zoning Use Certificate" is required to open a business or home
business in the City of Glendale. An application can be obtained by
visiting the City
of Glendale Building Safety Office at 633 E. Broadway, Suite 101
Glendale or calling (818) 548-3200.
